This is the eighth born of Zara 4356's twelve puppies. He was the first Leap Year Puppy

4/17/17  Alfred has always had a very round belly. He is so cute. He is a little timid of stairs and today for the first time he was able to go down the stairs to the yard (with a little help), but once he was out in they yard with all the other dogs, he was in heaven. He is adorable.

NOTE TO THOSE INTERESTED IN ZARA'S PUPPIES from the foster mom:
These puppies will be available the first part of May. Have you applied to adopt? If not, this is the link with the adoption information and application: http://www.vgsr.org/info/adoption
Please make sure you live in our service area.

Some of my personal requirements for my foster dogs/puppies are: a fenced area attached to your home’s back or side door. The fenced area is for the dog’s safety and your convenience. The fence needs to be a minimum of 4′ high, but doesn’t have to be elaborate or expensive, nor does it have to encompass your entire yard. The Invisible Fence cannot be used, as most German Shepherd dogs will run through the boundary at will. It does not keep out other dogs, wild animals or bad people nor will it allow your dog to come back in without a “punishment". With a puppy regarding potty time: All puppies are different, but a puppy can usually only hold his waste for the same number of hours as his age in months. (In other words, a four-month-old pup should not be left alone for more than four consecutive hours without an opportunity to go outside.) He can last longer at night, however, since he’s inactive (just like we can). By the time your pup is about four months old, he should be able to make it through the night without going outside. If you do not have the time required for a baby puppy, you may want to consider a pup over six months old or a mature dog over two years old.  Primary caregivers of puppies are to be adults only.
I have no information about the father of the pups.
If you think a very young pup would be a good fit in your family situation, please go ahead and get approved now so you can be ready when they are ready. If for some reason you miss this litter of puppies, there will be more and your approval is good for two years.
Please remember your application fee is not refundable but considered a donation and adoption is not guaranteed to applicants.
