Hi everyone, meet Modelo, affectionately referred to as Moe or Moe-Moe! This handsome boy is almost 5 months old and weighs in at approximately 50 pounds. Moe comes to VGSR from a shelter in South Carolina so there is not a great deal of history for him before arriving at our rescue. Over the last few weeks of spending time with Moe, we can tell you without a doubt that he is extremely sweet, smart, playful, and loving. Oh, lets not leave out the fact that he has eyes that can mesmerize you. Whether climbing up in the bed or onto your lap, he absolutely loves snuggle time with his foster Mom and Dad! Confession…he sleeps with his foster parents every night and sleeps all night long! Moe is learning to walk on a leash and doing well in that category. However, when he is outside of the gate, he has no problem staying with his foster Mom off the leash and returning immediately when called. He does not like to have his humans out his sight whether outside in the yard or in the house. He has the velcro thing going on and will follow you everywhere! He absolutely loves his 4-legged foster siblings and loves to wrestle and play! He has the typical German shepherd puppy energy but is also more than happy to lay at your feet. Moe has not been tested with cats yet so it’s hard to say how he will react, but if his demeanor is an indicator, cats will not be an issue. Moe loves his collection of stuffed animals, bam bones, and kongs. The one area that we are working on is the common puppy nibbling. It's always playful in nature, but we are working to minimize it. Luckily he corrects quickly and easily. He is up-to-date on his shots, including his rabies, and is now ready for the next step – selecting his forever home. The ideal home for Moe would include a secure setting, a loving family, calm children and another dog for companionship and confidence building.  If you feel that this is you, he would love to meet you!
