Sarge is a sweet, affectionate, and devoted companion. Following life as a stray and rescue from an overcrowded rural shelter, he entered foster care and new beginning. Sarge cried most of the first week but has settled in since. His favorite sport is playing ball. Other favorites include treats, walks, car rides, belly rubs, and the great outdoors. He is smart, treat motivated, great on leash, and house trained. He is good with grooming and well-mannered at the vet. He is a bit guarded with other dogs and not a dog park type but does well with slow introductions. He has a high prey drive and likely not compatible with cats or other small animals. Sarge is working through separation anxiety with a departing routine and will likely need the same commitment in his forever home. Sarge will be his best with continued socialization, exercise, and boundaries. He is medium energy but very active and needs challenges and things to do throughout the day to channel it.
