Kandu 7246

Meet Kandu - our big, handsome, fabulous, goofy foster boy. He seems to be meeting the trifecta requirements - dogs, cats, and kids (maybe not little littles - he might knock them over).   Feel free to reach out if you are a VGSR approved adopter with VGSR. Email: AMutt4You@gmail.com

8/11/2025 - Kandu is fitting in great. He has done well at two adoption events so far. He loves meeting the new dogs and even if they bark at him, he just shrugs it off.  He is starting to learn our routine and doesn't fuss much when it is time for bed. As for outdoor time, he loves just running and chasing a ball - though not 100% guaranteed he will return it.  Most of our cats are now willing to be in the same room with him - Poppy, Kiki, Whiskey, and Cali although they are happy to give him the side eye and remind him he isn't fully approved yet. Not sure if he sees one outside how he would be - still assessing. He is just a happy dog that wants to be near you and eat treats and get head rubs. We have heard his voice a few times now - nice and deep - but mainly to entice play or to be let inside. A big, goofy boy.

7/28/2025 - We have had Kandu (aka Teddy as in teddy Bear) for a week now and he has been a wonderful.  We've discovered he loves squeaky toys. He also understands what a toy basket is and like a toddler he takes every toy out of the basket. The more the better. He'll then pick his favorite and walk around the house with it. Now, if only we could teach him to put them all back!  As for kitties - Poppy, our youngest cat, has been the bravest and the most curious. He walked into Kandu’s kennel to play and drink water, slept on a nearby chair, gently swiped at his face, and walked between his legs. Kandu is curious but has taken it all in stride. We’ve not seen any malicious intent or intent prey drive. A couple of the other cats have started to check things out the last day or two. Used some treats to entice two of them and Kandu (safely in his kennel) just watched and enjoyed his own treat. No evidence of wanting to lunge at them. We’ll see how things go as they get braver and more curious. But everything is very positive right now. He is isn’t much of a barker but would prefer to be with you and will whine a bit when initially secured in a space and you leave his proximity. He’ll whine and pace a bit but eventually settles down. Our routine is all new for him so I anticipate improvements. Appears well housetrained.  He is a big, fluffy, happy pup.
