UPDATE 10/6/14

Beautiful Ava has finished all of her medical treatments!  She was unbelievably good through all her procedures.  Her foster dad is also her vet and he worried that she might be mad at him... Nope!  He still received kisses after all her treatments.  

She is ready to find her forever home.  She still loves car rides and enjoys getting out and about.  She has met my elderly parents and was very careful when giving them kisses.  She is so calm in the house, that she would be great with elderly folks.  She likes kids, but not when they are rambunctious.  I think she would be fine as an only dog, but she would also get along with other dogs who have the same energy level.  I tested Ava with cats and kittens at an adoption event and she couldn't have been less interested in them.  I think she'd be fine with cats and other critters.  

8/12/14   Lovely Ava is a dog that has spread calmness through my rather excitable pack.  She is a happy dog who always has a smile and a tail wag for us, hence her nickname of Princess Waggytail.  She has beautiful white fur and deep, chocolate brown eyes. She is a confident dog who fits right in with my pack. She has some health challenges.  She had several tumors removed from her mammary glands.  She is also going through treatment for heartworm.  Despite these issues, she is a seriously enchanting dog.  I smile every time I see her.  She likes to play a little, eat a lot, have a few toys around, and enjoy an occasional rawhide.  She doesn’t show signs of separation anxiety other than a few sad whimpers if we leave her alone.  She has fun at the dog park and enjoys car rides and walks with us.  I suspect she would be good with kids and cats, but we haven’t tested her yet.  Since she has some dysplasia in her hips, she would do best in a household with respectful children.
