About Daisy

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • Housetrained: Yes
  • Reaction to New People: Friendly

Meet Daisy! This spunky 7 year old gal is already spayed, housetrained and microchipped. The cutest thing about her must be her "eyebrow dots"...or maybe her little white socks! Her fluffy coat is nice and shiny after a bath from her foster mom. Daisy was very tolerant in the tub. Daisy is good on the leash, but she does perk up when she sees squirrels! In the house she is laid back and loves to have her chest rubbed. She knows how to sit and listens well. Daisy has lived with dogs and cats without a problem. That said, she would not mind being an only pet either as she is perfectly content to get all of the attention herself! She just LOVES people. Daisy is a sweet girl who has never met a stranger. She will stop to be petted by everyone she passes on her walks. She has apparently lived with children, but her foster home has not been able to test her with kids yet.

Update (8/28) on Daisy 3671:
Everyone who has met Daisy remarks about how sweet and adorable she is. She has won over many VGSR volunteers at adoption events, several of her foster mom's collegues and especially children from the neighborhood and those who came to adoption events. She LOVES people.
Her foster mom thinks Daisy would be an excellent candidate to visit nursing homes or hospitals as a therapy dog. Daisy loves attention, but she isn't pushy. She has not been phased by anything that her foster mom has exposed her to including busy shopping centers, playgrounds, construction equippment, bikes and more. In fact, her foster mom has taken Daisy biking (or rather out running along side the bike) and she seemed to enjoy it. Daisy also has gone on short runs (1-2 miles) with her foster mom and loves the exercise. That said, she is not a high energy dog. One or two walks or play sessions a day would suit her just fine.  In the house she is quiet with occasional playful spurts where she will toss a bone to herself or play with a Kong. She is now crate-trained and sleeps in there soundly.
After looking through Daisy's paperwork it seems that she may be younger than originally thought. We place her around 5 years old.
She might not be a fancy purebred GSD, but Daisy is a really good girl. She deserves a happy life with a loving family. Daisy is ready for her forever home
