.Now, you may be asking yourself, "Who would name a dog Chris?" In fact, his given name is Christmas Randy Woods. "Oh, he must have been born on Christmas then," most people say. Halloween, ironically enough. He's a remarkable dog in any case. Chris was brought to the shelter in Wake County, NC by his former owner who was moving to a place she could not take him, he came into our care in early September. He's one of the nicest dogs I've ever met. No one doesn't think he's sweet. He likes to give kisses, too. Until he knows you, however, it's better not to pull his tail or his legs: even when he knows you, he'll probably mouth you. If you're looking for a dog who's pretty well trained, Chris is your guy. He has sit down-pat, is pretty good with stay and down, and even will heel. He will rebel occasionally, so it's important to reinforce with him. These areas are sesitive because even at the spritely age of five, Chris has very bad hip dysplasia. He climbs the stairs one at a time, like someone with a sprained knee or an older person. He'll need to be on glucosamine supplements and maybe pain medicine and should refrain from rigorous physical activity. This shouldn't be too hard since he's relatively low energy. Chris will thrive in a home with few or no stairs. He would be ideal for a condo or apartment dweller (he likes elevators). If you ever wanted to save Christmas or want to fall in love with Christmas, this is your chance.
