Say hello to Andy! He came to the rescue by way of a rural shelter. We were advised he’s about 9 months and previous documentation showed a birthday of November 15, 2024, so he’s just a baby! He is in great health, his skin/coat have no issues, and we’re working on getting him up to date on his vaccines. He will also be neutered soon. We expect him to be available for adoption after September 4th. He does well with our female shepherds and a few male dogs that he’s met. He is fairly passive and when corrected by other dogs does not push back. We have two cats that keep to themselves, and he is curious about them but does not seem obsessed. We do not have children but I do think he would do well with older kiddos. He likes to steal toys and be chased; he’ll also play fetch a bit. He doesn’t love water, but he might grow into it with the right coaching! He takes treats very well and eats at a nice pace. He does not show signs of resource guarding. We have not noticed any allergies. He is OK on a leash. He does not pull much but we also use a harness. He did quite well at a brewery recently. He does not bark at other dogs in public (although he’ll bark at one of our dogs for attention). He’s very happy to meet any human. He is housebroken and knows how to sit. He does jump but we’re working on his manners. He would benefit from training. He does not like the kennel but we are working on that. We’ve only had him for a few days so as we get to know him better, we’ll continue to update this bio. Andy is located in the Richmond, VA area. If you're interested in him, approved adopters can reach out to Danielle via email at Danielle.Kirrane@gmail.com.
