3-12. Meet  Kobe, a handsome athletic 1.5 year old male GSD.  We are still getting to know more about him as he settles into our home routine.  He is cautious around people he does not know, and needs time to greet them on his own terms, or else is slightly growly.   Although he was an owner surrender that had numerous children, given his cautious nature I would not recommend homes with small unsupervised children at this time.  Once he gains his trust in you he is very playful and likes games of tug, jolly ball, and carrying/fetching sticks.
He walks well on a leash, knows basic commands sit, down, wait, stay, leave it, and has good recall when off leash.  Is crate trained but prefers his bed, has occasionally marked in the house, when given free reign.  He was curious about our cats but calls off as shown in the video.  Does very well with all dogs he has met so far.  He did well at the Pets-mart event in Fredericksburg yesterday.    He will need a strong leader to give him confidence in himself when put into new situations.   I’ll continue to update as we learn more about this young boy.
