1/8/22: Chi Chi Or "Chi" as we call her has surpassed our expectations! For a girl who was terrified of humans and who had never been on a leash she has become the goofiest girl who loves loves loves to snuggle and get affection. She has no issues walking on leash and is very comfortable in her foster home. She  enjoys chewing and is figuring out what toys are. She and her sister get into quarrels on occasion over high value toys. Chi Chi is shy around new people but is doing great warming up. She recently met a new teenager and after the first day she was napping in his lap. Chi Chi is young and active. She needs to learn manners and basic obedience. She is a lightening bolt in the yard - she can run circles around most dogs. She is very athletic and agile. Chi Chi has a very sweet and gentle personality. She can be mouthy like most young pups. Chi Chi will likely do fine with children as long as they respect her space and allow her to adjust to her new environment. Chi Chi will make a great addition to an active family! 12/31/21: Chi Chi 3893 is a super sweetheart with a gentle soul. Chi Chi and her sister (Sylvie 3894) came into VGSR from an overpopulation situation in a home with over 20 dogs. Unfortunately, poor Chi Chi is afraid of much of the world. She lived most of her days outdoors with a pack of dogs. Chi Chi has some scars on her ears and face. We were told she was picked on quite a bit. Chi Chi is a work in progress. She has never been in a car, worn a collar, walked on a leash or been outside beyond the backyard she was in. When she first came to our home she would run and hide. She is making huge strides. Her crate is her safe spot - she likes to hangout in her crate with the door open. She is starting to venture out but usually runs back if Sylvie looks in her direction. Chi Chi is such a sweet girl and has a ton of potential it is just going to take her some time to adjust. When we lay beside her in her crate her tail wags so hard it gets pretty loud banging against the crate. She loves giving kisses and will automatically roll over for belly rubs when she sees us approaching her! She likes treats and is a good eater. Leash walking is a process. For the first few days she would freeze if the leash was attached. She is now running around the yard with the leash. Chi Chi has some progress to make before she is ready for adoption. We are confident with love, consistency and patience Chi Chi will blossom into a wonderful girl and make a great addition to a family. In the short time she has been in her foster home she improves greatly each day! Stay tuned for updates about Chi Chi.
