Chino 3759 is a petite male GSD who is not your typical 8 month old pup. Chino had a rough start to life and is experiencing much of the world for the first time. Chino lived in an outside "dog lot" with lots of other dogs. He has never been inside a home, on a leash or in a car. When he first arrived at our home he was terrified - he refused to get out of the crate he was riding in and pancaked on the floor at the sight of a leash and collar. He has made leaps and bounds of progress within a few days.

What we know about Chino so far is that he is a sweet sweet boy! He is very shy with new people and environments. Once he warms up and trusts you he is an attention hog - he likes to nudge your hand for more rubs! The first few minutes inside our home he discovered the couch and it has become his favorite spot. He enjoys chewing on antlers and bones but hasn't shown an interest in other toys or balls...yet. Chino is gaining confidence and exploring the yard himself as long as someone is close by. He is walking on a leash like a pro. He has done phenomenal in the crate. He rides well in the car with a seatbelt. AND he is potty trained - not one single accident. Despite living with other dogs Chino was extremely scared to meet our docile female GSD. Upon seeing her he growled and tried desperately to high tail it out of there. We gave Chino time to relax  - within 10 minutes he had calmed down and they were sniffing each other. Day two of meeting our girl he did excellent and was excited to see her. If Chino is adopted to a home with a canine sibling it will need to be a calm, non-dominant dog. Chino needs an adopter who understands that he has had major changes and will take him to be the best dog that he can be. He is intelligent and is eager to please but he requires patience. Chino needs an adopter willing to work with him to gain confidence and allow him time to adjust to his new surroundings. Approved adopters may email Chino's foster parents at gsd2020k9@gmail.com
