German Shepherd Dog (medium coat) : : Male (neutered) : : Adult
Oh my goodness Zeus is a handsome fella! Zeus was surrendered to a rural shelter after the owner’s mom couldn't handle him. He's a big, smart, sweet guy. Zeus is learning quickly how to walk on a leash and sit/down/stay/come, but he's had things his way for 8 years so it will take some time and dedication. He was neutered 3/2/2021 and is recovering well.
No one told Zeus that "senior" dogs are supposed to slow down and sleep all day. He knows his commands, he is house broken. What a personality - he doesn't so much lie down as fling himself to the ground with a thud and a huff! He wants to please his humans, so he'll need a confident leader who will be firm with him to help him thrive. Can't wait to see this deserving guy find his fur-ever home.
[6/21/2021] Zeus was recently moved to a new foster in Northern Virginia and he immediately became the neighborhood's favorite. He has good social skills with people and other dogs. He is a Velcro dog and loves being around his people. He is active and enjoys adventures.
He does not like to stay home by himself. He loved living with other dogs, so his dream home will come with doggy siblings. He has been exposed to cats at his foster home. He is willing to engage with them, but respectful to their boundaries at the same time.
Approved adopters may contact Zeus' fosters at firstname.lastname@example.org.
