"Well hello! My name is Anya, but sometimes I'm also called Wiggle-Butt and Snuggle Bug by my foster parents. My favorite thing to do is play, especially with my teddy bear and GSD foster brothers. My second favorite thing is to cuddle up next to my foster parents on the couch. They always have a blanket and make me feel safe and cozy. I get so happy sometimes I just smile and give kisses.

Sometimes, it takes me a few minutes to warm up to new people. Every time I meet new people I am told how docile I am for a doggo my age. I'm not sure what that means but I think that's a good thing, especially since my last home was really noisy. My first set of humans didn't get along and I ended up at a shelter. Two days later I am in my foster home and have been here ever since. I've heard that most doggos my age are afraid of stairs and getting into cars; well not me! I can tackle any set of stairs and I really like car rides. They are so relaxing I usually fall asleep in the seat.  My foster parents think I have some great potential and have already started teaching me cool tricks, like "sit" and to go to my crate when it's meal time. My foster brothers have shown me the ropes of how things are done in this pack. It was not hard to pick up on and honestly it's much easier with them helping me. I've been told I am a fast learner (especially when tasty treats are involved).  The only major thing I am trying really hard to get better about is going to the bathroom outside. I'm learning that it's best to go outside in the grass instead of on the floor inside. I made the mistake one time of going in my crate because, well I just couldn't hold it any more and I had to wait for my blanket to be cleaned and that took forever!

I have only met a couple other doggos that didn't like me (I think it's because I was not part of their pack and I am a little bit bigger than they were). I wasn't sure what to do so I checked in with my foster dad. He made me feel better, and I stood my ground when I was tired of being bullied. I made sure I didn't hurt them, I just gave a little nip back and got the message across.  I'm not going to be mean to you for no reason, but I will not allow someone else to be mean to me because they can. I've also met a couple smaller humans (children, I think is what they are called?), and they were OK. I don't think they like it when I get so happy I nibble on their fingers a little. I promise I don't mean to hurt you, I'm just really happy to meet you and get all the attention. I have heard of these other critters called cats; I am curious what they are. Are they even friendly? Will they want to play with me too? I hope I can find out soon. Phew, I'm worn out now. I think a nap is in my very near future."

Anya is a great little girl. She will do best with another dog or pack that can show her the ropes. She is easy to teach and is highly motivated by food and attention. We would love to see her go to an active and dedicated family or individual as she has so much potential to do great things.  If you are an approved adopter and interested in Anya, please email her foster parents at gsdfanz04@gmail.com for more information.
