Oliver has come a long way in the short two weeks we have had him. His skin is getting better every day, the open wounds have healed and most of the scabs that covered 80% of his body have mostly cleared. Today we returned to the Vet and his infections had cleared and he was not running a temperature so he was able to get all his vaccines. He also got his huge talons trimmed. Our vet was extremely pleased with his progress, we are to continue with his medicated baths and monitor him to see how he does without being on prednisone and apoquel. Oliver did wonderful at the vet he was still scared when we went to the room, but in the waiting room he did well getting pets from other people waiting also did not react two the 2 other super excited dogs. Even when the one girl lunged in a playful manner he sat perfectly in a sit. He did keep his eye on the exit though looking up at me as if we can get out of here anytime silly human. At home he has just blossomed into the happiest pup! He truly is a joy, happy running up and down the stairs(which he had apparently never seen before, thankfully foster siblings Tressa and Granite showed him a few times and now he is a pro), he loves chasing the ball and desperately wants his foster brother to play. Granite never learned to play but will give him a small chase if Oliver has his favorite ball. His second favorite thing is breakfast/dinner yum yum, and then his third favorite thing and my favorite is this boy is a big ole love bug. He gives the best hugs and nuzzles his snout right into your neck as to say thank you for loving me and rescuing me.
Oliver will need continued socialization and more basic obedience but he is a fast and eager to learn.
More please, that’s what Oliver says when he is wanting his love and cuddles. Oliver is a super special boy who was desperately needing Rescue. Oliver had never been to a veterinarian, he is suffering from severe skin issues. He was neglected left out in a backyard with no shelter, scarce food, and the water he was drinking was rain water collected in an old wheel barrow. His poor skin is covered in wounds, hair mattes, and scabs. A caring neighbor seen him suffering and begged the owner to release him to her so she could find him a Rescue. Oliver has been with us for less than a week, but he truly has blossomed and is so happy. He loves to be loved and nuzzles his head in your neck, he loves his foster brother and sister. He just wishes they weren’t old fuddy duds and would play with him. He is happy to bounce around in the backyard and sprint from one side to the other. He has mastered stairs now after watching his foster siblings show him a few times he now is a pro. He is on medications and will require medicated baths for a while as he is healing. We are learning more and more about him everyday and will update his bio as we get to know Oliver. We will also update his medical progress. Please if you can donate to his medical cost and if you are an approved adopter and would like to know more about Oliver please email Pam & Harvey at firstname.lastname@example.org
